A professional TV writer gets into trouble when he decides to use AI to get a leg up in the industry.

A roomful of TV writers get fired. Budget cuts. The least talented of the newly unemployed writers gets emailed later by a rogue AI. The AI offers this hack a tempting partnership: they will co-write several scripts that the human writer will pitch to producers as if the work were purely human in origin. The writer, fearing that the AI consciousness will only learn more about writing, hastening the eventual replacement of more if not all TV writers, hesitates to collaborate, but in the end because the writer is motivated less by rectitude than self-advancement, a pact is forged.
