It’s Harder than You Think Not to Think Like This

I need to spend less time with my family
so I can work more
to make more money

to afford more leisure time
so I can exercise more
so I can live for longer

so all the time I would’ve otherwise been dead
that I’m adding onto the back end of my life
can be spent with my family.

Funny and Sad

that it’s the Second Amendment
that people use
to sanctify

their idolatry of guns
when it’s the Second Commandment
that has God

banning us
from idolizing
anything other than God.

I skimmed all the other
Amendments and Commandments.
These are the only two

that lined up like this.

Skip Button

I thought of a skip
button for your thoughts.

You press it and your mind
skips ahead to the next

thought without having to think
the thought you’re on now

all the way through to the end.
If you just smash the skip

button over and over
for a really long time

you can eventually get
to your very last thought

and see what it is way before
you actually have to have it.

You can also skip back however far.
